We did the Friday hike on Friday. It was great to get out of school! The boys were on their own this time so we did the catchment hike but we climbed down into the catchment channel and walked along the bottom. We quickly found fish and tadpoles! We had fun, rock climbing, walking on "train tracks" and running around the channel. Sean is really into running right now and he had some long runs. There is some construction going on with slope stabilization and we had to climb over some parts. We also have to climb into and out of the catchment and that is very exciting! Needless to say we got back home way after dinner time.
So Saturday morning we went back with nets to catch some fish and tadpoles for our aquarium. Sean caught most of the tadpoles but we worked together to catch the fish. You know "working together, like a team" as Sean likes to say.

Yeah a new blog! Love the whole team work between Dad & Son. Looks like a fun adventure & good one-handed filming, Chris.
ReplyDeleteThat water looks kind of murky...will your "catch" adapt to their new aquarium environment?
Gramma
catch is doing well. Tadpoles are feasting on frozen lettuce and I think the fish are eating fish food (a little bit less sure about this one!)
ReplyDeleteAll good!
no "chompers"? in the net
